This is a site dedicated to banning Flock Safety Cameras and any other ALPRs from Medway. Please read below to learn more about Flock Safety, ALPRs, and how we can stop them in Medway. We support the Medway Police and thank them for all that they do to keep us safe. Our issue is with the giant database created by Flock Safety and the intrusion that it has become on our Privacy.
Several years ago Medway installed 2 Flock Safety cameras in town. The cameras record license plate and other identifying information of every vehicle that goes by, which are then entered into a giant database of hundreds of billions of plate images and other vehicle data from over 120,000 Flock Safety cameras all over the USA. These cameras are mostly paid for with a combination of Federal and State funds so police agencies and Flock Safety can explore where any of us are going or has been. Several months ago Medway installed 6 more cameras. Police agencies on the network can see data from anywhere in the network. NO warrants are needed.
"Any sound that Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper, would be picked up by it, moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well as heard. There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live—did live, from habit that became instinct—in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized." -George Orwell, 1984
From June 2024 to June 2026 the number of Flock Safety ALPR's has gone from 40,000 to 120,000. This was mostly done with Federal and State funds.  There was never any debate or open discussion on the floor of the US House or US Senate or Massachusetts Legislature to approve it. This is not a Republican or Red Issue. This is not a Democratic or Blue Issue. This is a Red, White, and Blue American Issue that all of us should be concerned about.

Above is a Chart Showing 7 Days of Access to Medway's Flock Data in July 2026

Use you mouse to scroll over each dot to see the name of the agency, the number accesses made in 7 days, and the population of the Municipality.

“Privacy is not about having something to hide. It is about having something to protect.”

“Arguing that you don’t care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don’t care about free speech because you have nothing to say.”

The technology may be new, but the issue of protecting Privacy is not

John Adams, Massachusetts Constitution, Article XIV, 1780

“Every subject has a right to be secure from all unreasonable searches, and seizures”

Fourth Ammendment, US Constitution

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

George Mason, Virginia Declaration of Rights, 1776
